A huge THANK YOU to the boys, coaches and parents on our 8U baseball team, as well as the PPYSA, (Paul Evans and Jennifer Evans, I dont know how yall do it!), as well as the other teams and coaches in PP youth. My boys have improved leaps and bounds over just a few short games. During these last 2 games, though they were losses, the boys have been meshing into a team. Fist-bumping after defensive outs, encouraging one another, and understanding sacrificing themselves as an out to help the team. I, as are most of us that grew up in Pilot Point, are very competitive and want our kids to excel. Having said that, Ive never been more happy to LOSE these 2 in a row!!, especially against superior teams. Theyve had bad innings, only to bounce back the next to make it a game again! I, (so Im told), get so involved and animated at the mound when the boys do well that Im worth the price of admission, win or lose!! However, I wouldnt have it any other way!!! The sports these boys (and girls,..Bobby Erwin, Cybil Grigsby to mention only a couple), play are almost as important as the homes they grow up in....and the bonds they form will constantly remind them how great it is to be apart of a team. If its this exciting now, just imagine the excitement they, (and us parents!!), will feel when we all come together in high school!! So, from Troy Anderson and Kristy Anderson in our league up to James Emory and Shannon Emery in 10U and 12U, its gonna be a helluva fun ride for us all!!! BEARCATS! p,s.
