A huge congratulations and much admiration to talented horsewoman, 8-time, National Finals Qualifier, Lisa Lockhart for her first place win in the second go around at the NFR. Lisa and her great horse Louie clocked the fastest time of 14.29. Louis has close to $1 million in career earnings and is a remarkable and consistent competitor. What I admire most about Lisa is her ability to stay centered and balanced in every run. The ground at the Thomas and Mack so far has been a little peculiar, which has probably resulted in so many barrel penalities, seven knocked barrels in round 2 alone. From the grandstands, It looks a little deep and sticky, inhibiting horses the forward movement necessary to move through their turns. Kassidy Dennison, riding a 19 Year old gelding won second with a penality free 14.31. Event leader Kaley Bass holds a small lead, however took a barrel penalty in round 2. Crowd favorite, Fallon Taylor also had a penalty in round 2.
