A huge shout out to all of the Team NS Girls Provincial Teams who start their National Championship journeys today in Whitby, Ontario. Bantam Girls - The Girls were the first game of the Female Nationals, and faced off against Team Ontario. The Girls played their hearts out, but the final score of the game was 14 - 0 for Ontario. The girls play their next game later today at 3:30pm (EST) Team Alberta. Midget Girls - Update from the team: All of the Midget girls arrived safely in one form or another by Tuesday August the 5th with the exception of Taylor St. Peters who was injured earlier and couldn’t make the trip, the team will miss her. They spend a great day together touring the Iroquois Center, practicing and having a team meal. They boarded the bus this morning at 930am to hit Legends Area to face Alberta, their first opponent of the tournament. The Girls dropped a 7-0 decision but competed very well. There was evidence of some nerves on the floor but the compete level was high and Kelsey Colman-Sadd was very solid in nets. There was lots for coach Moore to build on and the girls were all very positive returning to their Dorm. Next up is Ontario this evening at 8pm (EST).” Junior Girls - The Junior Girls played their first game of the tournament at 8:00am (EST) this morning against Team BC. The end result of the match was 5 - 0 for Team BC. The girls play their second game of the day against Team Alberta at 6:00pm (EST).
