A huge thank you to my friends Sebastian Vieira and Luis Perez for once again allowing me to join them in the mountains of Colombia. We visited a location with fantastic views and plants I have only read about in the scientific literature - an unforgettable experience to be able to see them in the wild. We have all learned about places like the Galapagos that have evolved a somewhat bizarre and unique group of plants and animals found no where else in the world. This habitat had many plants native to the Paramo - an ecosystem type only found in the high Andes of South America. It was wonderful to observe, learn, and spend a great day with friends.
