A huge week coming up for the Get Down in celebration of our 11th anniversary! First we co-present Take Me To The River, a new documentary on the history and significance of black music in Memphis, showing Sunday Oct 5th, Monday the 6th and Wednesday the 8th (see mkefilm.org/festival for times and locations), then a double header weekend of dance parties starting Friday Oct 10th @ Red Star Cocktail Club (formerly Redlight, above Trocadero), and finishing with our main party at Mad Planet Saturday Oct 11th with free mixtape-themed anniversary CDs for the first 100 guests. The CD will feature amazing cover art by long time friend/supporter Shane Walsh! Both dance parties start at 10, watch the Get Down page for more info!
