A item -n the news this week brought tears to the eyes of many Trojans who attended school with Yleen Kennedy, Class of 1970, and her sister, Lillie, Class of 1979. Both women were murdered in 1984 in a house they shared in the Heights. The case had grown cold over 30 years, unresolved. So deep was the sadness experienced by the family, that on their grave markers, in a cemetery in Halletsville, was inscribed the word Murdered. This week a suspect was arrested in the death of Yleen. Forensics, along with information provided by an acquaintance of the suspect, apparently sealed the case in Yleens death. It appears that a similar murder charge will eventually be brought in connection with Lillies death.
