A jobless man applied for the position of “office boy” at a blue- chip Company. The HR manager interviewed him, and then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. “You are employed,” he said. “Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the necessary forms to fill in, as well as the date when you may start.” The man replied, “But I don’t have a computer, nor an email.” “I’m sorry,” said the HR manager, “If you don’t have an email that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.” The man left with no hope at all. He didn’t know what to do. With only N500 left in his pocket. He then decided to go to the popular Mile 12 market and buy a small basket of tomatoes. He sold the tomatoes in a door-to-door round. In less than two hours, he had doubled his capital. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with N4, 000. The man realized that he can survive this way, so he started to go earlier every day and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. Seven years later, the man became one of the biggest food retailers in the city of Lagos. He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the deal was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, “I don’t have an email.” The broker answered curiously, “You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!” The man thought for a while and replied, “Yes, I’d be an office boy in a blue- chip company!” Moral of the story: 1. You have what It takes to make it in Life – God has made sure of that! 2. Start from where you are and with what you’ve got – you can make it to the top! Dont kill yourself because of what you dont have or what you want. Men will always fail you. But hold on to God, if you are His, you will not be disappointed. 3.The world has so raised its standard that everyone wants to meet up, not knowing their purpose in life. Everyone wants to get Bsc,phd, Msc etc because they want to fit into the world system. The standard of the world will keep increasing for those who want to fit in. But for you, be still, listen and know Gods purpose for your life. He is the only One that knows everything about you. You dont even know yourself! 4. Even most of us who call ourselves christians are not worthy of that name. We try to meet up with the standard of the word all in the quest of survival, we engage in bribery just to get a certificate from the university, we pay to get grades. We compromise easily. We do not want it the hard way. It does not bother us that we sin against God, all we care about is our temporal state, to ease ourselves. The world has increased its standard, in education, that all men want to fit in, including the so-called ministers of the gospel, all want to get the highest of degrees and honours even when it is of no use to their calling if they even had one. All these are pride of life! Bottom Line: All things are good, but we must not because of our wants and thoughts and desire compromise the standard of God. Let us wait on God, to help us, to bless us. Be contented with what you have, hoping that it will be well some day. Dont look for short cut. The sorrow may be there in the night, but joy comes in the morning. Be strong, do not give up your integrity. Wait, i say wait, do not worry about tomorrow. Stop begging, work with your hand and let God bless your work. Remove shame and pride from you and do that menial job for now until God opens another door for you. Pride will keep you low when you try to exalt yourself by not doing that little thing. Stop being deceived by these prosperity preachers, work with your hand and be blessed. Do not risk your eternity because of your temporal wants. Seek first His kingdom and its righteousness and all things will follow after.
