A juvenile Emerald Tree Boa I photographed last summer while in the Peruvian Amazon. Juvenile Emerald Tree Boas vary from orange to red and only turn green once the reach maturity. If you look close you can see a green scale just above its mouth. I chose a macro lens which enabled me to render most of the snakes body out of focus, placing emphasis on its serpentine eyes and scaly head. In addition I used the snakes long coiling body to frame the head then waited for a tongue flick for the final touch. Iso 400, f/5.6, 1/160, 100mm (Canon 7d, 100mm L Macro, handheld) If you would like to view more of my work, please visit Tom Ambrose Photography. Thankyou!
