When he had eaten 10, his eyes were already filled with tears, and his stomach was burning up. He knew he would never bear this punishment, he begged to be whipped instead. The king agreed. But when the whip tore into his back for the tenth time, for he could not stand the pain. By then his eyes and stomach was better. so he begged to eat onions instead. Again the king agreed. After 10 onions again the thief had his eyes filled and stomach burning up. By then the pain from the lashes had gone. so again he switched to getting lashes. after 10 whips again he changed 2 eating onions.... and so he went on eating 10 onions and getting 10 lashes.. Our story is no different, we eat onions for 5yrs and then we switch to lashes for next 5yrs.. then to onions, back to lashes...and so on...By-Shankar Singh, Satyamev Jayate.
