A kombi driver was putting a flag (those small flags) on his screen and a passenger asked the driver why displaying a flag and went further to ask why the driver is loving his country. I then chipped in and told the passenger who was sitted on the front seat that the best change and transformation that you desire and willing to see happening across this nation is born out of patriotism - the love of the nation. In being patriotic, genuine and pan African soutions are produced. Anti-patriotism - i mean greed and chicannery- the dai ndatora zvese mentality is a sign of traitorship. The spirit of patriotism doesnt allow a few to sleep with their stomachs full whilst the rest are in abject poverty. It also doesnt allow the opposition parties to wish for a unity government for their own personal gains as witnessed in the marriage. It doesnt allow those elected into public offices to abuse their offices through corruption. The spirit of patriotism create a society which is equal. A society where human rights are respected and valued. A society where freedom of expression is honoured and wheras those expressing their thoughts are mindful of mentaining the form and character of humanity rather than personification degradation. I was in Tanzania-, people there are very patriotic- of cause they love their country-, the national objective where everyone contribute to is of national building. Emphasis is placed upon Watoto (children) as a way of planting and laying a foundation of patriotism where the people put things of national priority first rather than thinking of how they can squander public resources for their personal gain:- As a nation, let us visit and redefine the spirit of patriotism- a spirit where employees who works in government shun bribes or not to creat an atmosphere where the client can be draged into giving bribes. The spirit which respects our values of Africanism- the spirit of co-habiting in an equal society.
