A large amount of money was stolen during a robbery in north Manchester. At around 10.30am on Tuesday 11 June 2013, two men driving a Ford Focus parked in the car park of a business on Monsall Road, Newton Heath. They waited until the driver of a van got out of the vehicle and threatened him with a gun before they stole a safe containing a substantial amount of money and drove off in the Ford Fo...cus. The car was dark blue in colour with the registration MJ51 FYY. No one was injured. One man is described as being Asian, in his mid 20s to 30s, of stocky build, 5ft 10in tall, had a round face and black goatee beard. He wore a black balaclava and dark clothing. Another man is also described as being Asian. Detective Constable Simon McGauley from INPT East said: “We believe the vehicle has followed the van and parked in the car park before making their move. Fortunately, no one was hurt but obviously the driver has been left severely shaken. “I would ask anyone who recognises the description of the Ford Focus or who may have seen the car driving along Monsall Road to contact police as soon as possible.” Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 4288 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
