A large band of light to moderate shower activity continues to - TopicsExpress

A large band of light to moderate shower activity continues to migrate westward over southwest Oklahoma on the western edge of a slow moving upper low currently positioned over south central Oklahoma. This activity will linger into the overnight hours before eventually ending from northeast to southwest. A second cluster of showers with embedded storms has moved into portions of southern and central Oklahoma. This activity will continue westward, bringing more beneficial rain to portions Oklahoma late tonight. While an isolated thunderstorm or two will remain possible through the night, limited instability will favor more light to moderate and occasionally heavy shower activity as the upper low migrates westward. Given very limited instability tonight, no storms are expected to become severe. However, heavy rainfall may cause localized flooding, especially in poorly drained and flood prone areas. There will be a chance of thunderstorms each day this week through Saturday. A few strong storms will be possible, mainly on Monday. Heavy rainfall, especially on Monday, may cause a few areas of flooding.
