A largely symbolic vote in the British Parliament on recognising Palestine and the outcome of which will not change any facts on the ground with regard to the status quo in the Holy Land - and still... ... the British PM cannot stomach even to participate in the voting, preferring instead to abstain. So much for democratic principle of voting, engaging, debating that we are led to believe is the staple of the British Houses of Parliament - often lauded as the Mother of all Parliaments! Shame on the Tories and disgrace on the Lib-Dems who are mainly backing the PMs abstention. A plague on both their houses - especially so when the General Election is round the corner.
