A lesson in life, Made in China: I was once having a discussion - TopicsExpress

A lesson in life, Made in China: I was once having a discussion with a student who had come from China to learn Android, when he mentioned that they eat everything in China. His exact words were We eat everything that flies in the sky, except airplanes; everything that swims in the sea, except submarines; any thing on the ground, except tables. Well, human walk on the Ground too, you cant eat them!, I said. We do. In fact, some people in china even eat fetus. Even as I write this, I feel like vomiting. In case you want to research, try these links (Warning - Highly Disgusting): goo.gl/7aMWPV goo.gl/lcpgBk Now here is the interesting part: China is full of Buddhists, Gautam Buddha preached Vegetarianism, and yet 96% of chinese are non vegetarians. If you are a Buddhist, how can you eat meat? Buddha was strictly against Non Veg food, against killing of any kind. A Hindu does not eat Beef. A Muslim does not eat Pig. Some may, but certainly not 96%. So How come these Chinese managed to eat meat! ??? Here is the interesting story which explains who the cunning human mind works. Long ago, Gautam Buddha and his all followers were strictly vegetarians. A person who would kill, in the words of Buddha, would remain a barbarian and his consciousness would never grow. Buddha also had some other rules, one of them for his monks was : You have to Beg for food using your begging Bowls, and whatever is given, you must receive it with Gratitude. All the people knew they were vegetarians, so they only received Veg food in their bowls. One day, something strange happened. A monk came to Buddha and said, I am in a big difficulty. I was coming back from the town with food in my bowl and planned to sit under a tree and eat it, and just then, a bird dropped a piece of meat in my bowl. If I eat meat, it will be against your teachings. If I throw the food, it will be against your teaching that whatever is given we must eat. What should I do. All the other monks were also puzzled - How will Gautam Buddha solve it? Buddha said - If I ask you to throw the meat, all other monks will become selective, eating what they like and throwing what they dont. That will be against the people who worked hard and gave you food. You cannot throw the food they earned after hard work. However, as for the Bird, it is highly unlikely that even in a hundred years again, a bird will throw meat in your bowl. So, eat the meat once and we will forget this incidence. The cunning human mind found their loophole. Gautam Buddha is not against meat, they said, he is only against killing, and if meat is given to you, You should eat it with gratitude. So now, they are all non vegetarians. The shops all say - We do not kill the animals, they die on their own. Now, you will ask me, Nikhil, the story is good - but what lesson do we learn from here? Nothing - didnt I say it was made in China?
