A letter written by 7th grader Cheyenne Aasen, Human Resource Director for Penards. Dear Parents and Citizens of Hustisford: If you were not already aware, the Hustisford School District recently hired a Technology Education teacher after a couple of years not having one. After hiring Mr. Jasperson, the students have been driven to accomplish amazing feats. What Id like to bring to your attention is the success of an in-school company run by seventh graders. Yes, SEVENTH GRADERS! The first hour Tech Ed class launched their company Penards, near the end of November. The project was an enormous success! The students persevered through the challenges of turning simple pieces of wooden blocks to elegant pens. We want to bring this to the attention of the Hustisford Community, so they know just exactly what determined young individuals can do. Not only did they elect their own Board of Directors, but they took to social media to expand their efforts. The members of Human Resources for Penards created their own Facebook page which has reached 45 likes and has been viewed by over 100 people. We write this letter to encourage you to take a look at the work of these students, and let them know exactly how much the young individuals are appreciated.
