A line about the future being renewable isnt an actual answer to our climate problems, its a bumper sticker. And we dont plaster bumper stickers over world heritage sites. This was the exact wrong way to do climate advocacy, or any advocacy at all. It reeks of arrogance and privilege, and was a cheap stunt which misses the point and its not the only issue I have with Greenpeace either. Im not a fan of their stubborn denial of the science behind GMOs, and it doesnt help their cause to cite scientists on one issue while promoting conspiracy theories on others. But it is vital to remember that our climate is still changing, and human activity is causing it. We can move on and keep advocating for the science, and to take action to stem (and reduce) the amount of carbon in our atmosphere, and Greenpeace can get on board or not, but either way, this movement is not just Greenpeace. thinkprogress.org/climate/2014/12/16/3603899/greenpeace-nazca-peru-climate-message/
