A little good news update about the Christmas Eve baby meat rabbits rescue, including Rudy (Rudolph). After several weeks of daily soaking, deriding, medicating and wrapping each the six most injured babies that are recovering at SaveABunny we are relieved they are doing better than expected. We LOVE these bunnies and they feel it. We thought we might lose Rudy on several occasions. Hes the most wounded and shown in the photo. HIs prognosis is still very guarded and now only one foot is still fairly infected. And we are so VERY grateful for the help we have received and thus been able to share. Enough money was raised for us to send $2,500 to Second Chance Rescue, the group that initially bought the bunnies and asked us for help. That covers all their expenses to date and will also allow them to buy extra food and meds. If more funds are needed we have guaranteed them we would help if they want. The bunnies at Second Chance were less severely injured, but still wounded and required lots of healing. We are hoping to be able to file some charges against the owner of the farm before any bunnies leave the area. Adoptions will be needed soon for Second Chance baby bunnies and later for SaveABunny when ours are healthy enough. We are hopeful that fewer surgeries will be needed than expected.
