A little history for all of the followers, not necessarily funny but interesting! Your new admin collects coins from around the world, but did you know that one of the earliest forms of currency circulated within Africa was the Katanga Cross? These are small crosses of copper or brass, formed by pouring molten metal into sand molds. It testifies to Belgian colonization and the mineral wealth of our former colony, now a part of the DR Congo. Three of these crosses appear on the flag of the State of Katanga, and they were imprinted on the currency that was created when Tshombe declared independence in 1961, until its reunification in 1963. ~Kaptain Katanga
