A little mini-rant before I go to bed. To the makers of all - TopicsExpress

A little mini-rant before I go to bed. To the makers of all childrens medicines and, particularly, prescription medications: make them taste delicious please! After all of these years of making these medicines, you cant find a way to put more sugar or deliciousness into them? I mean, look at what Monsanto has done to our food. You cant go all GMO and fix this problem? (I realize it is not the same, but you get my point!) My kids have always despised taking liquid medicine, and this is the preferred method of administering prescriptions. Why? I mean, finally some of the over-the-counter medication people got smart and made delicious chewable and melt-away meds for kiddos. My kids will take any pill that they can chew that tastes like grape goodness, or even outstandingly orange! But even when Elisha was hospitalized a few years ago, I asked them if they could give him some ibuprofen or acetaminophen for his pain that he was complaining about and they ONLY HAD LIQUID. What? You run a childrens ward in a hospital and the only thing you offer is liquid? Seriously, no other kids ever complained or rejected it? When they tried to force it into Elishas mouth, he spit it out all over the place and they got miffed. Hmmmmm . . .then I said I had chewables in my purse and I was going to give him one. They made me hand it over to them and then they only allowed me to give it to him after they checked it and they counted out the pills and would not let me have the bottle back until he left. I guess I sort of understand that--safety precautions and all--but I still dont get why they didnt have chewables or something liquid that tasted good. Can you tell I am still getting over the stress of giving Elisha his prednazone for the last two days? I am still wiping it off of things like my floors and couch because he just does not want it in his mouth. I wish I knew someone who had some pull to change this!
