A little more on ragging. All juniors must approach seniors to ask for dance and say "my honourable senior, may I have the pleasure of this dance with you", take hand a lead to dance floor. It is a slow waltz and we launch off 1,2,3 and 1, 2, 3, on and on till music stops to our great relief. Those who remain sitted are called wall flowers. Next the quick step.a number of us were most clumpsy, stepping on toes and others no sence of beat- pom cha cha, pom cha cha or slow slow quick quick. Some had two left feet. When the 2 weeks finished, there was ceremony where the Seniors took off the green bows from the Juniors to officialy end orientation. A mighty great relief to juniors. On hind sight, it was not too bad. At reunions, we laugh at ragging. Many have personal experiences to recall. Whenever there was a break, we took off by bicycle, on foot hitch hiking or coach tours, etc to all corners of Europe. Youth Hostel was cheapor lodge in Board Lodging rooms. Paid 10 Pounds allowance a month (RM85/-). Our trips on shoestring budget, cheap place to sleep and eating bread, Maggie Mee not heard,of. All the same, enjoyed ourselves. I would not go through that again. Need creatures comfort now.
