A little over six weeks ago my sister and I lost a very influential person in our lives. Today, we have lost yet another, our grandmother. She made us into the women we are today. Even at the age of 89, she still had a lot of spunk. A post from a family friend, just posted a few days ago, said she was flirting with construction workers who were working on the rehab hospital she was in. Anyone who knew her would agree she was spry til the end. She was the person who was so influential in my sister learning to lipread. She knew a little sign language, but, was told by my sisters first teacher, talk to her (Kelly), more than sign to her. The teacher knew the hearing world would not adapt to my sister, so, she had to adapt to the hearing world. She taught my sister and I EVERYTHING we know. She has always told us she wanted NO crying at her funeral, she wanted a New Orleans style jazz funeral. She wants people dancing to jazz music and celebrating her life. And, Im sure our family will try to do that because she deserves it, 100%. She has raised several children besides her own, traveled the world and flirted with a few cuties. Mom, I love you and I miss you. Please tell Pop and Daddy I love them and miss them, all the trees in the WORLD!!
