A little perspective never hurts so I thought I would do some research. It took me 5 minutes. All the sources are based on Wikipedia articles. Verify at your leisure. 22000 casualties bombing of Dresden 3500 civilian casualties from “precise” bombing in Desert Storm 16,725–19,013 civilian casualties from war in Afghanistan 1467 and 2334 people were killed in U.S. drone attacks as of 6 May 2011 Over 700 civilians killed by Republican paramilitary organizations and 868 by loyalist paramilitary groups in the Irish-English “Troubles”. According to the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, 887 (78 percent) of the 1,137 Israelis killed in Arab terrorist attacks from September 2000 – 2005 were civilians.[1] Another 8,341 Israelis were wounded during this period, and 5,676 were civilians A 2007 study of Palestinian suicide bombings that took place from September 2000 through August 2005 found that 39.9 percent of the suicide attacks were carried out by Hamas, 25.7 percent by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), 26.4 percent by Fatah, 5.4 percent by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and 2.7 percent by other organizations. Israel’s ground offensive, after Hamas rejected two cease fire attempts, to root out a tunnel network built by a terrorist organization in a land packed with 1.5 million people, and for which Hamas is using children and innocents to shield, has resulted in less than 250 civilian casualties. One civilian casualty is too much, but does any nation or cause have the moral authority to use the word “restraint” when it talks to Israel? Israel has been the model of restraint and is meeting a standard higher than any other country or cause in recent world history.
