A little slice of my life... :) Today I did my first classroom observations/ teacher observations in Philippine schools this year! I went to 5 schools today. Started at 7am-5pm. (seriously! NO time for rest, NO lunch because the time Ill spend for lunch should rather be spent driving to the next school. Dont want to be late. At least I have skyflakes and bananas and a gallon of water with me c/o office people.) I learned a lot today just like any other day I am out. A little piece of my job is to conduct coaching/training to teachers in different and innovative teaching strategies; classroom observations; and most of all, empowering teachers to maximize the use of every teaching resources they have--be it web-based or the traditional ones. I dont know how to explain but I am so happy. The job is not easy but its what I really want to do. I am still a teacher, only, I have broaden my horizon. Being able to do something you really want to do and being able to help and reach out to teachers and students, for me, that is my other piece of happiness. The feeling when the teachers hug you very tight and say: Thank you for all your patience and support. And when students tell you how much you are able to help them, that is happiness and its all worth it. Aside from that, there are many many things to learn from them. I am humbled by how much these teachers I meet work hard in the classrooms to give everything to students. And there are just so many stories from students that will touch your heart only if you get to listen to them. :) My father will be so happy. :)
