A little something thatd help build leg muscle! *dont try at home or the gym without permission* * long jumps - can be done at a local park on grass or at a sand box (I dont advise doing it with 6 stairs!) * box jumps - can be done anywhere with a sturdy surface like a stepper or platform * Jumping lunges (on their own, weighted or great for a superset with weighted squats or leg extensions) Its a well known fact sprinters have much bigger and stronger legs than endurance runners...why? EXPLOSIVENESS! Explosiveness (or in technical terms plyometrics) helps with sprinting, 1RMs, 3RMs or anything required for sudden surges of energy within a muscle group. This is due to an increase in your fast twitch muscle fibres! Not only can it help with heavy lifting but it can also make workouts harder / more entertaining AND help you with any explosive sport e.g. basketball, volleyball, American football, golf (ignore the last one!) etc. Happy jumping folks!!
