A little stretch Friday. Safe during pregnancy and after delivery. Ideal for friends on a desk bound job, and runners. And everyone else who needs a stretch! Calf muscles stretch: 1) Soleus muscle stretch - place foot against a sturdy object such as a lamp post or a wall, with toes pointing up and heels on ground, push torso towards the lamp post/wall and feel the stretch right deep in your calf 2) Gastrocnemius muscle stretch - place hands against wall, one foot step back with heels on the ground, push the wall and stretch. Hips: 3) hip flexor stretch - with one knee on the ground, the other leg take a step forward. Raise the opposite arm to the leg in front and tilt to the side to feel the stretch on ur hips up towards your obliques. Back: 4) Latisimmus dorsi and lower back stretch - grab a sturdy railing or pole and round your back. Feel the nice stretch as you round your spine and lean back with the support of the pull on the railing. Hold your stretches for 20 counts or 30s and repeat 2-3 rounds throughout the day.
