A little update before bed time.... We have some light freezing drizzle in spots tonight. Most common across Western Illinois overnight into the morning. Other areas may have to endure some freezing fog as well. Attention turns to three weak systems that are set to impact the local area beginning tomorrow night. All in all a few inches of snow may add up in spots through next Sunday. Each of these three systems will not be major snowfall produces, but could drop ~ one inch of snow in areas across Northern Illinois. Of greater concern is the impending brutal cold being depicted on the models. This is still advertised for the 8-10 day range. Some well-known forecasters have said the model runs have been legendary with the ferocity of the cold predicted. Not my words, but something to raise an eyebrow as we move forward. Again, freezing precipitation tonight, snow tomorrow night, snow Wednesday into Wednesday night, and snow Saturday night. All systems will be weak and feature very little if any accumulation. Certain areas may total up to an inch or two when all is said and done.
