A loan of Rs. 117 Cr provided to 10715 beneficiaries under credit action plan in Kulgam KULGAM, NOVEMBER 13: Against the credit allocation of Rs. 411 crore fixed for the fiscal 2013-14,a loan of Rs.117cr have been provided to 10715 beneficiaries for establishment of income generating units in district Kulgam up to the end of 2nd quarter 2013. This was revealed at a meeting District level review cum consultative committee meeting held here today at Chawalgam Kulgam under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner who is also the Chairman of the committee. While giving the details of the credits disbursed by various banks, the district Lead Bank Manager Kulgam informed the meeting that 7733 units were set up under agriculture and allied sectors with a credit facility of Rs. 94.7 crore, under nonfarm/SSI sector Rs.10.21 crore were provided to 645 beneficiaries while as an amount of Rs. 13 crore has been provided for setting up of 2237 income generating units under other priority sector. The meeting was also informed that 1050 women beneficiaries were provided Rs. 1110 lakh and under weaker section scheme a financial assistance of Rs. 896 lakh was provided to 1761 beneficiaries. The Director RSET Kulgam also informed the meeting that under the programme, three camps comprising of 96 candidates were imported training in dress designing, hand embroidery and sheep rearing out of which two candidates were linked with credit coverage. Under the scheme BPL candidates are provided with free transport and refreshment during the training period. He further stated that from the inception of the scheme in Kulgam in 2011, 625 candidates have been imported necessary training in different trades and so far 40 percent of the trainees have been linked with banks and units stand established. The District Development commissioner stressed upon the bankers and sponsoring agencies to have close coordination in disposing of the cases and also asked for giving thrust to the sectors like agriculture, horticulture, bee-keeping, sheep rearing, animal husbandry besides transport sector. He also directed the bankers not to ask for any kind of guarantee for the sponsoring loan upto Rs. 2 lakh and education loan upto Rs. 4 lakh as per RBI and NABARD guidelines. He also impressed upon the line departments and bankers to achieve the targets in full well in time. Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGM RBI, Cluster head JK Bank, Director RSET officers from line departments and representatives of various banks and media persons.
