A local cat sanctuary is closing its doors :( . Abused, unwanted and neglected animals are in dire need of sanctuary so it is very sad to see a great one close its doors due to financial difficulties. Its not easy for anyone out there trying to make the lives of the neglected animals better, it takes time, effort and money. It can be emotionally draining to see so many animals in desperate need of help and not being able to help them all. Please, do what you can for an animal in need, give it food, shelter and veterinary care. Give it a place in your home, yard or garage if possible. If there is no way you can care for an animal in need yourself, please donate to the sanctuaries and shelters out there. We are all very much in need of your help! A great way you can help SOUL is by sending a donation to: PO Box 166, Guilford NY 13780, or via one of the paypal buttons on our website (feralsoul), or oder a bag or two of food for our cats from The Houndstooth Bakery and Boutique (thehoundstooth), https://facebook/pages/The-Houndstooth-Bakery-and-Boutique/137773502908351?sk=info, 607-563-2275. I personally pick up all food ordered through The Houndstooth so you save on shipping and handling costs :). --- Anna Briggs was the founder of Peace Plantation Animal Sanctuary in Walton, NY. Opened in 1983 and closing this summer due to rising financial operating costs and diminishing donations. Peace Plantation, a no kill sanctuary, has placed thousands of companion animals into loving homes. The animals currently living at Peace Plantation will be moving to a similar sanctuary in Virginia. Over the years, the Peace Plantation has employed many dedicated employees. Anna Briggs passed away in 2011 at age 101. ---
