A local man was arrested earlier for throwing a small dog from a helicopter into the sea. Gary Prosser, a truck driver and marvellous wit from St Johns, was apparently driven to his actions by the consistent yapping from the Jack Russell next door. Prosser, 31, had never flown a helicopter before but learned quickly upon reaching the end of his tether, and pointed the Chinook towards the Atlantic once hed seized the dog. A police spokesman said, We believe Mr Prosser commandeered the chopper in order to get the dog as far away as possible, with no hope of it making a Homeward Bound style journey home. Coastguards were quick to the scene and located the dog who was yapping furiously, but decided to let him drown because he was indeed an annoying little prick. Mr Prosser, ordinarily an animal lover, could not be reached for comment. However, all charges have been dropped after police decided that he acted in the best interests of the neighbourhood and the city as a whole.
