A long question from our weekly quizzing session: (Do not Google, obviously): A started out as National Dairy Food Products Corporation in 1923. In 1980, A merged with Dart Industries, makers of B, Tupperware, WestBend, etc. C then acquired B in 1996, which in turn was bought over by D in 2005. D is currently a major giant in its line of business, though it exited the food business in 2012 by selling Pringles to Kellogg’s. In 1988, the company E purchased A for $12.9 billion dollars. E was renamed to Altria Group in 2003 and it has a 28.7% stake in SABMiller plc. In 2007, E sold off its stakes in K. In 2004, A sold off its sugar confectionary division to F, a company found in 1891, originally selling soap and baking powder. F was subsequently acquired by G in 2008. Forbes ranks M the 5th largest privately held company in the US. G deals in the field of food processing and confectionary. In 2010, A took over H for $19.8 billion dollars. H was found in 1824 in Birmingham, England and might have been an iconic childhood brand for many of you. (and maybe for some elders too :P ) A-H?
