A lot can happen in 24 hours usually there are my usual, Im sick and cant come to holiday program or Mums car has broken down so I cant get there. Last night, however, I had a late call from Lilys Mum to say they were in hospital and Lily was about to go into surgery after having her arm broken by a horse that kicked her (NOT ONE OF MINE I HASTEN TO ADD). Then this morning about 15 mins before the holiday program began I had that heart breaking news that Joanna (my Champion Rider 2013) doesnt want to ride anymore! So I was slightly shattered this morning as my first holiday program started BUT what is so beautiful is that my riders who have now all been with me for 3,4 or 5 years just propped me up and carried me along with their enthusiasm so thank you everyone for your support today AND of course your AMAZING RIDING!! Thank you Jasmine for my lovely cupcake, Koby and I have just polished it off! All of you today rode soooooo well it was a pleasure to teach you all. I couldnt stop Jasmine from performing canter circles on Billy she also did some great jumping and a fantastic one stride double. The placing pole was jumped really well too I was only slightly scarred every time they landed though with the upper body tipping too far forward. Laura handled Musket with patience and firmness to complete the lateral and jumping equitation course showing us all how to perform shoulder-in and renvers and then turning into jumps with straightness. It was really good for everyone to watch Laura ride Musket because I dont think anyone believes me when I say he can go in a straight line! Sarah brought her horse riding head with her today, performing some greatly improved riding skills and used her legs to get a walk to canter transition, a great renvers, and all the jumps and placing poles were accurate and straight, next time if you carry on with this determination you will be cantering in to all of these obstacles. Ashlee rode Cookie and nailed the shoulder-in with some great cantering and jumping. The one stride double was ridden well the second time with determination and straightness. Cookie showed off a great working trot at the beginning too. Angelina met her match today with Romy getting to grips with cantering her in circles without the madam scooting-off uncontrollably! There was a magic moment in the equitation test where Romy held a beautiful soft canter before turning into a one stride double where Angelina jumped out with great confidence. Shoulder-in was fantastic too! Riley who opted to change from Sammy onto her faithful stead; Dillan. Riley aka Tinman had both her knees strapped but continued on to finish the day jumping 70cm with great shoulder-in and renvers and a turn on the forehand to die for. The placing pole and double were jumped perfectly again though the landing technique was tipped forward but this was due to the old knees! Hey Tinman! After everyone took their saddles off and rode around bare back while I added up the score sheets, there was some cantering around which I was very happy about as this improves the overall riding abilities of everyone. Now to choose best rider....................................this is too difficult ................................all of you have improved so much and everyone had really good moments and a few bad moments ............................ I believe it has to go to Jasmine for this mornings riding the canter circles were fantastic and although the landings were a little precarious she just kept coming around and jumping the jumps. Thanks for a great day everyone.
