A lot has happened in just a few short days. We want Leah to - TopicsExpress

A lot has happened in just a few short days. We want Leah to receive the best possible care and in my mind I think bigger hospital/city= better medical care. God has given both Nick and I a peace about doctoring in Ft Wayne for Leahs cochlear implants. We saw Dr Disher last Thursday and loved him and his staff. We also love the the audiologist that we will have with her CIs. Dr Disher sent in our request to insurance. CIs are very expensive and there is a lot stipulations. We must qualify for all of them before they will cover her surgery. According to the doctor, they should have no problem accepting Leahs procedure due to her level of deafness. Still, insurance pre approval is not usually a short wait. Before we can have surgery and while we wait for insurance, we need to have an EKG done and CT scan to cover all our basics. Tomorrow we will have the EKG done to check her heart. Prayers would be appreciated for her to be cooperative. These results of these two tests will hopefully tell us the effectiveness of her CIs or if she is even a good candidate. We are praying that nothing is found in either test and they tell us she is perfect. Now for the very cool part, WE HAVE HER COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERY SCHEDULED!!!!!!! On December 19th, she will have both implants put in at Lutheran. The surgery will be 5 hours long but is outpatient. We are praising God for this opportunity for Leah. Last Christmas she was still labeled an orphan and now this Christmas she not only has a loving family but will soon have the ability to hear. Jesus looked at them and said, With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
