A lot of Labour supporters still have a naive belief that there is still a democratic process in place in which issues such as the money lost in the Royal Mail give away are subject to some sort of accountability, and the even more naive assumption that Labour will criticise or even reverse this. The truth seems to be more that Parliament has become no more than a business operation whose business is to do the dictates of big business, Gove as chief education privatiser, Hunt as chief health privatiser, Pickles as chief local government privatiser etc. The power and the money go hand in glove, the services deteriorate and our taxes fund the profits of private companies with offshore accounts. Until we have a representative party that explains and articulates politics that sees the enemy as the corporate state itself, rather than the tired left/right bogeyman discourse then nothing will change. A change of government following the next election will be no more than a change of management....new boss, same as the old boss!
