A lot of people quit looking for work as soon as they find a job.- Zig Ziglar Never! Well off here on a rant this morning. Been reading about the Chris Kyle case. Not sure how I feel about Jesse Ventura right now. But, it is what it is. Secondly in the Fast Pitch world we lost Ernie Parker, pitching guru. What a Great guy. May he RIP. I taught a lesson on proper mannerism yesterday while walking out of a store. It was one I am sure my students will not forget soon. After paying for gas at WaWa I did what any gentleman would do, I held the door open for five ladies walking towards it. The last of the five ladies Thank me. I allowed the door to close, then paused a moment, the reentered the WaWa. As the five ladies were gazing at the menu of sandwiches, I approached them. The lady who had Thanked me noticed me walking towards them. I simply said Good afternoon ladies and put my hand out to shake the young ladies hand that had Thank me for holding the door. I went on to say how its hard to be a gentleman when so many others take proper manners for granted. Of course one of the other women started to speak (one looked pissed off at the world) about how not all men are gentleman. Of course after hearing that my defense mechanism came on. I started to think how you can say that after someone extended proper mannerisms towards you and you shunned them. But, this was now my session and I was going to take full advantage of it. I continued to Thank the young Lady that had Thanked me. I then reiterated that the two most unused words in the English Language are Thank You. As for the other three Ladies they seem to put their heads downward in shame, I quickly changed that...I told them all, I did not come back in the store to embarrass anyone, simply to make everyone understand that we cannot continue to treat others as its a given, or an expectation. I went on to say even if I had been another female, the proper thing to do was say Thank You. Now while some of you are reading this Post, if I were to ask all of you to take a second and guess the age range, I am just guessing that most would say 18-25 years old. That would be a stereotypical statement that we would all regret saying. The age range in this circumstance was 48-65. Amazingly enough, I was astonished knowing the era most of these Ladies were raised in demanded proper manners. So, have we become that society? Lets hope not. Lets all practice using words like Thank You and Please as daily habits. It truly makes us all look better. Hope to see you guys at Logans Roadhouse tonight 5PM till closing. If your not coming share the event with someone. I would love to meet some more of my fb family. I always look for work...even after I have the job (quote) Have a Great Day!
