A lot of people seem to be posting their new headshots on here today. I dont want to sound like a know-it-all but Ive been taking headshots for 10 years and Im actually really concerned and have to give some advice to make this easier for yall! Though there are many qualities of a headshot that are subjective and debatable, there are a few industry standards that ALL headshots must have and if they dont...then theyre not a headshot. 1) It needs to be in focus. 2) It needs to be in color. 3) the focus of the shot is your HEAD. Anything below your waist is a waste of space and you will be unrecognizable when your headshot is viewed as a thumbnail. 4) The background should not be distracting. If you are lacking any of these qualities in your headshot, it (and you) will appear unprofessional. Once you have all of that, an added bonus would be to get a shot that captures your unique personality. I am not trying to drum up business - I really promise - but I want you to have examples of what Im talking about, so here is my website.
