A lot of people sit around wondering how they can become great. - TopicsExpress

A lot of people sit around wondering how they can become great. They want to become the best at what they do. Here is a little insight into what it looks like to be someone who has made it to the top. There are 3 types of people, Coolers, Closers, and Cleaners. Coolers- worry about the competition and how they measure up. Closers- study the competition and plan their attack based on their competition. Cleaners- make the competition study THEM; they dont care whom they are facing, they know they can handle anyone. I got the book for Relentless. From Good to Great to Unstoppable by Tim Grover for Christmas and its a page turner, I even highlight areas in it as I go, which is rare for me. I never highlight anything, I read it absorb it and move on to the next book, article, whatever I am studying at the time that deals with driven people in all walks of life that have become the best at what they do. Leaders, achievers, and as this book points out- CLEANERS. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, and I can think of people I know in the sport of bbing I love so much, coaches, athletes, organization and business owners.....They are few and far between, there are only a true handful of people out there that are cleaners. Robert Johnson is a cleaner, top natural pro bodybuilder and former DFAC World Champion. Andy Frisella is a cleaner, owner of Supplement Superstore and 1st Phorm . Cliff Wilson is a cleaner, prep coach and owner of Team Wilson. Vicky McCann and Rich Fitter are both cleaners, Co-Owners of the Drug Free Athletes Coaltion (DFAC). Monte Pearce is a cleaner, owner of 4 Anytime Fitness locations and my personal Mentor. Doug Miller is a cleaner, Multiple time IFPA World Champion and owner of Core Nutritionals. Layne Norton is a cleaner, prep coach and owner of Biolayne LLC, OutWork, and top national level powerlifter. A cleaner is the one when the pressure is on, they get the job done no matter the odds, no matter the pressure, no matter the obstacle you had best get the F$%& out of the way. They stay cool, and calm. When someone needs to lead, they dont have to volunteer- its automatically assumed they will lead. The accomplish their goal and when its done, they dont celebrate long because they move on to the next challenge to become the best at what they do. You will NOT work harder than a Cleaner. If they think someone is, they will find a way to work even harder. There are certainly others not listed. Every single day I wake up hungry and driven to be the absolute best prep coach and business owner I can possibly be. There is only one way- strive to become the best or stay average, or even above average. Mediocre, or even pretty good. Hell with that. We are spending the time doing something we love, why spend it just trying to be good, why not spend it trying to become the best. The truth of the matter is, only a rare few will actually work to do just that. The truth is, if you have to ask yourself if you are a Cleaner- youre not. Everyone knows when someone is a Cleaner or not. Being RELENTLESS means never being satisfied. It means crreating new goals every thime you reach your personal best. If youre good, it means you dont stop until youre great. If youre great, it means you fight until youre UNSTOPPABLE. It means becoming a Cleaner. - Tim Grover, personal trainer for MJ, Kobe, Dwayne Wade and others, and author of Relentless. From Good to Great to Unstoppable. You dont have to be a basketball fan for this book to shed some insight into what it takes, as a matter of fact it has nothing to do with sports it has to do with examples of athletes that have reached the top and their mindset, work ethic, and rise. I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to become better at what they do.
