A lot of people were hailing a reported 5% boost in GDP for 3Q. Turns out, there may have been contributions from Q1 and Q2 pushed forward to Q3 and a huge chunk of the reported [by the government who wants credit for making the number larger] appears to be massive increased spending on ... HEALTHCARE. The increased costs under the ACA (Obamacare) do get added in to GDP. (keep in mind government spending also contributes to GDP - another reason why GDP is a horrible measure of economic success). [article provided courtesy of Leon Dixon]
