A lot of the things that we want are inherited, in that, society conditions us to want them. A house, a husband, a car, a multi-billion rand business. Ive been thinking about what I want, without societys interference, things that would truly appease my soul. I want to fly, I want to fly over Africa, I want to be a Lawyer, I want to spend my life learning, I want to adopt and be a single parent to two children, I want to volunteer for the United Nations, I want to be a human rights activist. I think so much pressure is put on us, especially us Gay people, to live our lives in a chronological and pre-determined way. Primary school-check. High school-check. University-pending. Getting married right? Wrong. Id probably sink deep into an inescapable depression. The soul must be appeased, it must be given what it wants.
