A lot of us have grown up without active fathers or fathers who’ve manage to emotionally scar us in some way. Even if it’s not on purpose, even if their life just led them away or led them to act ignorantly, their children, the “Fatherless,” as I’m going to refer to it, have experienced personality damages due to their parent’s actions. Why might this be? Because we are created in need of a father. If we don’t have one present or he isn’t acting in love, then a hole forms inside us, normal day-to-day lessons are lost, and we grow up somewhat behind others. Now let’s change this idea a bit, and remove the father you all are thinking of with the Heavenly Father. Unlike some human fathers, He doesn’t just disappear into the distance and forget about His children or bring down His wrath upon them because he had a bad day. Actually, when the Heavenly Father seems distant, it’s because we’ve become distant. We sometimes let ourselves become apathetic toward him. We live our lives sunrise to sunset, not seeking the betterment of God’s kingdom or bothering to be grateful. We let our passion simmer into a dry contentment that bears no fruit!
