A lot of you love Whitewater Lake. A couple of us are taking it to the extreme. In a surprising, actually breathtaking, turn of events, the Widow Durkin from the west shore snagged a great catch (and Im not talking bass) from the east shore and in a few weeks we are going to marry. Since he is loathe to give up his east coast neighbors and I cant/wont/refuse to give up my piece of lakefront farm and my neighbors on the west, we will, like many of you, now have a lake house and a real house....but ours will both be on Whitewater Lake...a 5-mile commute by bike or 1 mile by kayak, how convenient! For those of you who follow lake management politics, the real question the pastor should have asked during our pre-marriage counseling was, Can a weed person from Cliffs View on the south lobe and a bog person from East Lakeshore Drive live happily ever after?? We think so! (Maybe we should decorate the pontoon with tin cans and streamers and the just-married banners for the June 21st Venetian night..hmmm.) No better place to be...
