A lovely San Francisco concert recording from June 25, 1959 by Egon Petri of Beethovens Sonatas Op.49 Nos.1 & 2, two works he didnt record commercially. Petri was 78 at the time of this performance and he plays marvellously, with beautiful singing tone (appreciable despite the less-than-ideal recording quality), clear melodic lines (wonderfully phrased and articulated!), glistening runs, and natural timing.
