A lovely poem written by one of our talented Bangor clients following a Bronze Casting Project with artist Ned Jackson Smyth: What if? With Ned Jackson Smyth What If? We could paint What If? We could draw What If? We could sculpt And print and saw What If? We could laugh What If? We could learn What If? We could let ourselves go Dare set aside our tears and fears To let creatively flow Fun at the foundry, foam and fire Blasting, burning, bronze A metamorphosis of science And chemical reaction To get the result that we desire A unique piece if not perfection Wings, waves and butterflies Emerge to tell a story Of precious pearls and wisest owls Our phoenix rise to glory With hearts and hugs determination Tried by fire a new creation Picasso, Monet, Jackson Smyth Unique talent, special gifts Inspire us in the finer things With passion, purpose Joy that brings Hope and dreams in darkest days Art therapy paves the way Paints colour through the urban grey Conveying what we cannot say What If? We explored our creative mind Explore what treasures we would find Or help to heal a broken heart With our own peculiar works of art We did. T Reid
