A lovely review of George Boleyn: Tudor Poet, Courtier and Diplomat on Amazon today: I have often wondered who George Boleyn truly was as a person. I had often thought of him as the Robert Downey Jr, Iron Man character of his time period; playboy, intelligent, quick witted, philanthropist, rich boy. It turns out that he was those things, but much more. It had never occurred to me how religious he was or how much of a hard worker he was as well. I had been searching for a book that at least had his scaffold speech in its entirety. This book answered all of my questions and did not fail in the least. We all know the inevitable outcome to George Boleyn, but to read a more detailed account of his life leading up to that horrifying event is intriguing!
