A low pressure system with a warm and cold front is tracking - TopicsExpress

A low pressure system with a warm and cold front is tracking across the Midwest today. Highs today will be in the 70s to 80s with dew points nearing 60. Dew points are already in the 50s this morning in our southern counties with severe storms ongoing in Nebraska/Kansas. These storms are expected to track into Iowa this morning and into the KWWL viewing area this afternoon. Any of these storms could become severe producing large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. A warm front will also be setting up across southern Iowa this afternoon and additional severe storm develop is possible along it. Severe storm potential is extremely dependent on how much sunshine we see today and where the warm front settles. Do not become complacent about the weather today into tomorrow. Stay with KWWL for the latest. Another round of storms is expected to track east overnight as the cold front tracks into Iowa. A few of these storms tonight could become severe. Lows tonight will be in the 60s with a southeast wind up to 15. Storms/rain should move out Monday morning with another round of severe storms possible Monday afternoon. Highs will be in the 70s Monday with a south winds up to 20 mph. Cooler for the rest of the week with highs only around 60 and lows dropping into the 30s in some locations overnight.
