A maintenance building fire had been contained but is not under control at this hour. Brattleboro fire Chief Mike Bucossi says crews responded to the rear of the Colonial motel pool area at 5 30 am. The fire spread to the surrounding grounds and to a pile of stickers on the nearby Tarmey lumber property. No injuries were reported, and a cause will be investigated. Multiple media reports say Scott Milne is likely to concede the race for Governor of Vermont to incumbent Peter Shumlin later this morning. The contest appears headed to a vote by the legislature in January, as neither received 50 percent of the vote.
