A man and a woman have been found dead inside a Walsall home. Police were called to an address in Hollemeadow Avenue, Blakenall, at 3.50am this morning (Saturday 10 May) following a call from the ambulance service reporting that both had suffered stab injuries. A man aged 32 and a 29-year-old woman - believed to be former partners - were pronounced dead at the scene and a murder enquiry has been launched by West Midlands Police. A 19-year-old man who was at the house when officers arrived has been arrested on suspicion of murder to enable detectives to formally question him over the circumstances surrounding the deaths. While the precise cause of death is yet to be established through a post mortem examination, both are believed to have died as a result of knife injuries; a weapon was recovered from inside the property. House to house enquiries are being conducted, whilst forensic investigators are examining the scene. Three children - girls aged 11, eight and seven - were sleeping in the house when officers arrived and were not injured; they are being cared for by friends. Anyone with information which may aid the police investigation should call detectives on 101. People who don’t want to speak with police officers directly should contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 who will pass on the information.
