A man has been charged after allegedly driving at almost 100km/h over the speed limit in the state’s Riverina region. About 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday 11 January 2014), police were performing stationary speed enforcement duties on Tumbarumba Road, Book Book, when it’s alleged they clocked a Ford Falcon travelling at 195km/h in a 100km/h zone. The vehicle was pulled over and police spoke with the 25-year-old driver. He was issued with a field court attendance notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and driving a vehicle at a speed dangerous. The man’s driving privileges were suspended on the spot and his vehicle was confiscated for three months. He is due to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on 11 February 2014.
