A man has been charged following an investigation by officers from GMP’s Fraud Unit. On Thursday 18th July 2013, officers executed two search warrants; one at a solicitors practice on Wilmslow Road, Cheadle and another at an address on Brooklyn Crescent, Cheadle. The investigation was in relation to allegations of misappropriation of clients’ funds. Andrew John Taylor (dob 13/5/57), of Brooklyn Crescent, Cheadle - a practising solicitor - has been charged with 14 counts of fraud by abuse of a position of trust in relation to 13 elderly clients who Andrew Taylor held Power of Attorney for. He is due to appear at Stockport magistrates’ court on Monday 27 October 2014. The charges relate to the theft of £623,920.00.
