A man has been charged with a series of dangerous driving offences, including driving whilst unregistered and uninsured, after his car allegedly crashed into a house in Windsor Downs. Four people, including a teenage girl, were hospitalised after the crash which occurred at 3.50pm, Saturday 21 June 2014 on Canoona Avenue, Windsor Downs. The car allegedly crashed into a house and hit a number of people standing on a front veranda. A 25-year-old woman suffered serious head and leg injuries and was airlifted to Westmead Hospital. She is in a serious but stable condition. A 48-year-old woman remains in hospital with fractures to her right knee and leg. A 14-year-old girl is in Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition, with lacerations and bruising to her legs and feet. A 23-year-old woman was released from hospital yesterday. About 10pm last night (Sunday 22 June 2014) police arrested a 41-year-old Windsor Downs man. He was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, two counts of furious driving occasioning actual bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, drive unregistered class ‘A’ vehicle and drive uninsured class ‘A’ vehicle. His licence was suspended and he was granted conditional bail to appear at Windsor Local Court on Wednesday 16 July 2014. Inquiries into the crash are continuing.
