A man has been hospitalised after being hit with a beer bottle during a robbery in Sydney’s west yesterday. About 2.30pm (Saturday 5 April 2014), a 48-year-old man was walking through a park on Vine Street, Fairfield, when he was approached by a man. It’s alleged this man struck the 48-year-old to the head with a beer bottle, before taking his phone and wallet, and fleeing the area. The injured man took himself to Liverpool Hospital where he received treatment for cuts and bruising to his face. Police from Fairfield Local Area Command were notified and an investigation commenced. Detectives would like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, 30-35 years old, about 175cm tall, unshaven, with a thin build and tattoos on both of his arms.
